I was told senior was going to come faster than i knew it would, "before you know it, you're going to be walking in front of your entire class as you receive your diploma," where the things I was told during my first years in high school. I honestly didn't believe them, but the time flew by and I'm already deciding on where to attend college. I couldn't image even see myself in college my first two years in high school. Its been challenging to balance my classwork with everything a college applicant has to complete, let alone balancing life. Most of the collages I have applied to have already notified me on their decision. So far my plans are to attend CSU Bakersfield. I'm sort of nervous as this year comes to an end, there are so many responsibilities that i'm going to be accountable for. But at the same time I'm really excited to get out of the house and start my life. To start my career and learn biology then apply to medical school. Just the idea excites me.

Its almost the end of the first semester in my Senior year, it doesn't even feel like its been a long time. I only have one semester in high school left. Its crazy to think about, the time as past by without me noticing. It still feels like I'm a freshmen campus but just a little wiser. There are so many deadlines to worry about and I'm freaking out, making sure all my college applications are correct. I'm having help making sure everything is correct but i'm sill nervous of something going wrong. So far I have applied to CSU Bakersfield, CSU Fresno, CSU Channel Islands, CSU Monetary Bay, CSU LONG Beach, CSU Stanislaus, UC Sand Diego, UC Davis, UC Riverside and UC Irvine. I feel like the FASFA application took forever to fill out and complete.
I was able to job shadow Dr. Joel Ramirez a sports medicine specialist, which was awesome because i got to see somethings of what a doctor has to do during their job. Since I plan on become a cardio thoracic surgeon in the future, this job shadow helped me greatly in motivating me more to pursue such a career. I sort of want to be in college already so I could start preparing for my career and begin my life. So far it’s only the first week of my senior year and i'm already starting to become stressed. My summer was really stressful too. I spent my summer recovering from surgery and i didn’t get to do the things i wanted to over the summer. Such as train with the cross country team over the during summer practice. So far I’m on pace to graduate but i plan on improving my work in order to improve my grades for college. I still haven’t done my job shadow and i'm feeling like it's going to be difficult to find and interesting, to job shade a doctor. I’m looking forward for senior graduation, that moment when i’m walking down to receive my diploma, and i could finally say “I did it”. My goals for my senior year are to stay above pace and get into a college of my choice. Best of luck to my fellow classmates.
